Film Innocence of Muslim telah mengusik ketenangan umat muslim dunia dalam beberapa waktu terakhir. Cindy Lee Garcia, aktris amatir yang terlibat dalam film itu mulai berbicara di media dan mengaku ditipu Sam Bacile (produser film Innocence of muslim).
"Aku tidak tahu mengapa ia melakukan hal ini. Tapi ia telah menipuku. Aku yakin ia juga menipu aktor-aktor yang lain," tutur Garcia dalam wawancara dengan the Middle Ease Broadcasting Center (MBC) , dilansir dari al-arabiya .
Garcia juga mengatakan tidak tahu jika film itu menceritakan Nabi Muhammad. Ia mengaku bisa terlibat dalam film setelah mengikuti audisi untuk film berjudul "Warriors Desert"
"Aku tidak pernah menyebut nama Muhammad, aku tidak pernah mendengar nama Muhammad sampai aku melihat trailer film itu di YouTube dan aku tidak pernah mengerti apa yangmereka coba lakukan. Tak ada satu pun hal yang masuk akal bagiku," terang Garcia.
Film ini sendiri telah menyebabkan gelombang unjuk rasa di berbagai penjuru dunia. Seorang duta besar AS untuk Libya juga tewas dalam aksi demonstrasi.
"Hari terakhir saya sempat bertanya padanya (Sam Bacile): Kenapa Anda melakukan ini pada kami?
